Couples Session Photos

It is almost the end of the August. Pretty Fall scents will begin filling the air, football season will be in full swing & our one year wedding anniversary will be here before we know it. But the end of August also means it's my birthday! :)  & I received an early birthday gift with our couples session photos.

I wore my wedding dress for part of the session because I absolutely love it & how I felt in it the day of our wedding, so why not wear it a second time? Plus, on your wedding day things are so hectic & it was nice to fully enjoy those moments together during our session. We are sooo thrilled with how our photos turned out!
A big thank you goes to Danielle Lutz Photography

Second outfit: Pink dress sold out, but similar here, gold belt, bar necklace

Witches, Beer and Moose... OH MY!

Nate will be going back to rotations in a week, so what better way to end the summer than to take a trip!
We traveled to Maine & made a few stops along the way. Our first stop was Salem, MA. We of course went into all the "witch" shops, saw the museums & the Salem Witch Trial Memorial. We even, possibly saw a few real witches?? Before leaving we decided to do dinner at a restaurant located on the water, which was really pretty. I was coaxed into trying raw oysters.... needless to say that didn't go so well, but I will spare the details!

The next day we traveled to Portland, ME. The highlight of this stop was probably Shipyard Brewery. We went there for a beer tasting & I'm not a beer fan whatsoever, but they had the most scrumptious pumpkin beer. It was like someone took all the best things about fall & bottled it up. We then went & had lunch near the water (surprise). We each got chowdah, Nate got the seafood & I got the clam; both were delicious!

Monday we headed to Freeport, ME to see the L.L. Bean store; it's massive! It was a really cute town to visit & shop. Later that day we made our way to Bar Harbor, ME which was essentially our destination. Maine is definitely a beautiful state if you like the outdoors. We hiked Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park & as far as you could see there was water & shoreline. The park was packed, & I mean packed, the first day we went. We went back the next day & the weather wasn't the greatest, but the crowd was much better! It was super windy at the top of the mountain that day, but it was neat to see all of the clouds swirling around us! We also went for a run along the shoreline, which was great since it made a run enjoyable for once (at least for me). We had lobster our last night there because obviously we couldn't go to Maine & not have lobstah. The one unfortunate thing about this trip is... we didn't see a moose.

(Yes, we camped & it actually wasn't too bad...)

(The water was wayyyyy too cold to get in)

We traveled home the following day because my whole family came for a visit to go to a Washington Nationals game. It was a great time since we were all together and the Nationals won!

(My mom wanted a photo of us, apparently we are incapable of smiles.)

Hope you all had a great weekend! :)

It's ALMOST Football Season.

I haven't written in a couple weeks and it seems so much has gone on!
2 weekends ago our families came to visit. Nate's family came to move his sister to a new apartment and my family came to tour Gettysburg. Naturally, I had to bake something for everyone! So, funfetti cupcakes with chocolate icing and dinosaur sprinkles it was! On Friday a bunch of us went to Hershey Park (free tickets for the win)! It was Christmas in July while we were there, so Christmas music was blaring and twinkle lights were everywhere. It was a great time! Sidenote: Rollercoasters have officially begun to scare me...

That Saturday I went with my family to Gettysburg. We have a couple of history buffs in the family, so it was something they really wanted to do! I was able to bring Joey along and I think he had the best time out of all of us! He wanted to check out everything in sight and go into every shop he passed. Plus, everyone around us loved on him so much! He was definitely in his glory.

This past weekend we traveled to Cortland, NY for the New York Jets green and white scrimmage. My parents and Nate's mom came along with us and we got dinner at a neat pizza place before the game. It would be perfect to have a little kid at this type of thing. There are so many bouncy houses and different football courses. We thought about "claiming" one for the night just so we could do all those fun activities. I've never seen an NFL team play before and to top it off my favorite player ahem, Eric Decker, is now a Jet! The scrimmage was really fun to watch; the players are beasts! Afterwards the players stuck around and I was able to meet Eric Decker and catch a glimpse of his wife and baby. They're all gorgeous! Loved it! It was a really memorable night and it ended with a free firework show!

This coming weekend Nate and I will be taking our trip to Maine. Beyond excited!

Happy Monday all!
